Imphal, December 13:
The Manipur Congress Party has come out strongly against the PR Government and said that the Governor-in-Council is 'incapable of providing basic and essential services to the general public'.
In a hard hitting statement MSCP said that the present administration has failed on all front and added that it has 'punctured the rule of law.' Giving examples of the inefficiency of the PR administration the statement said that the Electricity Department is promoting 'collective bribe'.
The department is refusing to repair transformers on the ground that the State Government has no money to repair defunct transformers.
Consumers have to bear the cost of repairing the transformers, said the MSCP and added that no receipt is issued for the cost borne by the consumers.
In many cases power supply have been stopped for even a month when transformers break down, charged the MSCP.
The same thing is case with water supply.
On the rule of law, MSCP said the Law Department and the Advocate General are seen acting in a whimsical manner.
The statement cited the example of the termination of 85 medical officers and 21 dental surgeons despite the fact that the Government is well aware of the Supreme Court's observation.
That the Court has struck down the order of the Government bears testimony of its inept handling of things, said MSCP.
